Stampin’ Up Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set w/Coordinating Dies

The Stampin’ Up Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set w/Coordinating Dies is a great set to use for birthday cards! For the first card, shown below, I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Parakeet Party alongside the Bright and Beautiful designer series paper. A full tutorial is available on my YouTube channel and in my FREE crafting group on FB.

Cut List:

  • Card base = Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut to 4 1/2 by 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 on the long side
  • 1 piece of the Bright and Beautiful DSP cut to 4×5 1/4
  • Berry burst card stock measuring 3 1/4 by 4 1/2
  • White cardstock measuring 3×4 1/4
  • White cardstock measuring 4×5 1/4 (this goes inside the card)
  • A 2.5×6 in. piece of coordinating DSP for the envelope flap.

Once you have cut all your paper pieces, begin by adhering all the pieces together as shown. The 4×5 1/4 piece of white goes inside the card. Now, you can stamp your balloons and sentiment on the front of the card. On the inside of the card, I used the “I think it’s time for a celebration” sentiment stamp in this set. Add embellishments as desired. Lastly, glue your 2.5×6 piece of DSP to the envelope flap and trim. Great work! You just made an awesome birthday card! You can watch a quick video of this card being made here.

Cut List:

  • Lemon lime twist 4 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4 on the long side
  • DSP (1 at 4 x 5 1/4 and 1 at 2.5 x 6)
  • Misty Moonlight card stock 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.
  • White card stock (1 at 3 x 4 1/4 and 1 at 4 x 5 1/4)

Once you have cut all your pieces, adhere and you are ready to stamp. Stamp your balloons and your sentiments on the outside, and on the inside, if desired. (Sometimes I like to leave my cards blank on the inside so customers can write their own message.) Glue your 2.5×6 piece of DSP on your envelope flap, trim, and tada! You’re done! Congrats, you’ve made another beautiful card!

Stampin' Up Beautiful Balloons Stamp Set w/Coordinating Dies

In the cards above, I wanted to demonstrate simple stamping, using just stamps, ink, and paper. The next card will give you an idea of how to use the dies that coordinate with this stamp set.

Cut List:

  • Flirty Flamingo – 4 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • Parakeet Party – 2 at 4 x 5 1/4
  • Scrap pieces of Misty Moonlight and Melon Mambo for the balloons

Once you’ve cut your paper, assemble your basic card. Glue one piece of parakeet party on the front of the card base and the other on the inside. You will need a Stampin’ Cut & Emboss, a Big Shot, or another die cutting machine. Follow the specific directions for your machine as to what order the plates go in, place your card stock down on your cutting plate, place the die on the paper with the ridge side down, cover with your top plate, and roll through your machine. Once you’ve cut your balloons, use dimensionals to adhere them to the front of the card. Stamp your sentiments as desired and you’re done!

Five Ways to Use the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set

The Hello Ladybug Stamp set allows you to make a variety of cards that are as unique as you are! It takes just a few minutes to put together a perfect card for any occasion. In this post, I am going to show you five different card ideas using the Hello Ladybug stamp set.

I will include measurements and all the components I used to create each card. I will also link you to the YouTube video that will walk you through creating your own card step by step. Here’s the first one! The supplies that I used for all of these ladybug cards and more can be found here. You are able to add them all or pick and choose which ones you want to add to your cart.

Card #1 — Black/White Gingham

Hello Ladybug stamp set

I CASE’d this card from Pinterest. I found it really eye-catching and I love the gingham! This card uses black cardstock, sweet sorbet card stock, black and white gingham paper, the Ladybug builder punch, the Hello Ladybug stamp set, deckled rectangle die set, baker’s twine, and the sentiment is from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set, but you can use any sentiment you wish.

Basic measurements: Card base (black cardstock) is 4 ¼ in x 11in, scored at 5 ½ in. On top of that is a piece of sweet sorbet which measures 4 1/8 in by 5 ½. Next, is the black and white gingham which measures 4 in by 5 ½ in.

If you prefer a step-by-step walkthrough on how I made this card, you can watch that video here. Next up, card number 2!

Card #2 — Ladybug Floral

Hello Ladybug stamp set

This one was fun to make. I tried a new blending technique on cards that I’ve never used before. I found this design on Pinterest. Pinterest has tons of ideas for awesome cards! Even better, most of them can be adapted to use the supplies you have on hand.

For this card, I used the Ladybug Builder punch to cut out the ladybug pieces and then used the wings to double as leaves. The ladybug bodies are black cardstock, the wings are polished pink card stock, and the leaves are parakeet party card stock. I used basic white cardstock as a base. I stamped the flowers in Polished Pink ink and the sentiment and the sets of 3 dots in evening evergreen.

The measurements here: the white card base is 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2. There is a sheet of parakeet party on the inside of this card which measures 4 x 5 1/4.

The blending technique is simple. I just took a blending brush and my parakeet party stamp pad. I used my brush to pick up some ink and then blended it onto the paper, adding more ink to the brush until it looked just right.

You can find a step-by-step tutorial video here.

Card #3 and #4 — Encouragement

For these two cards, I used pieces from both the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set and the Amazing Phrasing stamp set. Amazing Phrasing is free with a $100 purchase now through Aug. 31, 2022, while supplies last. The rainbow sheet is from the Celebrate Everything designer series paper pack, which is available to order with purchases over $150. I also used the ladybug builder punch, tahitian tide and polished pink cardstock, the deckled rectangles die set, and the solid faceted gems.

The card base for this measures 4 1/4 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. The insert inside the card is 4 x 5 1/4.

A video tutorial for this card can be found here.

Card #5 — Birthday with vellum

This card is a slightly different take. For this one, I added a piece of silver foil paper (you could also use vellum), slightly smaller than my card base. The card base is black cardstock and measures 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2. The white insert is 4 x 5 1/4. I used sweet sorbet cardstock to make the ladybug wings and sweet sorbet ink to stamp the flowers on the insert. The white square with the sentiment measures 1 1/2 in.

You can attach the silver foil in one of two ways. You can glue it down, or you could use a piece of ribbon or bakers twine, insert inside the top fold and tie a knot/bow around the top outside of the card to keep the vellum in place. In addition to the Hello Ladybug stamp set, I used sweet sorbet cardstock, black cardstock, sweet sorbet stamp pad, white cardstock, and glue.
